Hey there readers! Y’all still remember my promise included in my “The Selection Trilogy Book Review”? If you forgot, then I’ll make you remember it. I promised to make a review on Kiera Cass’s latest sequel of the trilogy which is The Heir. I will not break my promise to you guys so here’s an article regarding the said book sequel.
Book Synopsis
Princess Eadlyn has grown up hearing endless stories about how her mother and father met. Twenty years ago, America Singer entered the Selection and won the heart of Prince Maxon—and they lived happily ever after. Eadlyn has always found their fairy-tale story romantic, but she has no interest in trying to repeat it. If it were up to her, she'd put off marriage for as long as possible.
But a princess's life is never entirely her own, and Eadlyn can't escape her very own Selection—no matter how fervently she protests.
Eadlyn doesn't expect her story to end in romance. But as the competition begins, one entry may just capture Eadlyn's heart, showing her all the possibilities that lie in front of her . . . and proving that finding her own happily ever after isn't as impossible as she's always thought.

My Review
The release of Kiera Cass’s The Heir made me feel so excited because the long wait’s over. This book is all about America Singer’s and Prince Maxon’s only daughter and how she managed everything to keep the Illea people feel safe, contented, and loved.
From the first three books (The Selection, The Elite, and The One), I was used to have that romantic feels because of Mer and Maxon’s love story. Apparently, I was quite disappointed when I’ve read the latest sequel because it has more adventurous and quite boring side than the romantic ones.
The story’s point-of-view is Princess Eadlyn’s so it was great for me to read with a girl’s perspective. Kiera used both formal and informal words to make the book suitable for the readers, both teens and adult teens. And though the story has many characters, Kiera Cass successfully established each of them having their own distinct characteristics.
Among the characters inside the book, I can really relate to Eady, because what she did in the story is what any girl would do to their parents. Every child will take any risk just to make their parents proud and out of worry. For me, this is the best thing we can to for our parents.
Furthermore, there are many good parts inside the book where anyone can relate with. Some of this part will make you predict the things that will happen in the next chapter but Kiera, in my opinion, is good at making people land with a conclusion for the next part yet the story will be twisted to something the readers never expected to happen. Just like after I finished reading the book, I thought she will choose a certain person from the selection but it didn’t turn to be that way.
Upon reading, I didn’t notice I was at the end already. Why? Because the story is a cliff-hanger. Yes. You will never want to read the end simply because you don’t really want that part to be the end. But that Kiera’s trick. For now, I want her to write another sequel because I want to follow Princess Eady’s journey inside the palace.
All in all, I would suggest this book to those who want books about romance and adventure together. I would rate the book 2 out of 5.
